*Serving Your Way To Global Impact*
Job 36:11 If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures
Rev. Lott Carey is celebrated today as America’s pioneer black missionary to Africa. But it was by the glory of God that he rose from grass to grace.
Born into slavery in 1780, his faith in God enabled him to shake off the shackles of his background. When he was 24 years old, in 1804, Lott heard the Gospel preached in a Baptist Church and committed his life to Christ. After joining the Church, he felt called into ministry. Though a stark illiterate, through determination, he learned how to read and write and was able to study the Bible.
As he stepped out in ministry, he served God diligently. His preaching not only impacted the black people but also the white. Carey hungered to take the Gospel to Africa and so formed the African Missionary Society.
He was doing all these while still a slave, but by 1813, he was able to raise enough money to purchase his freedom.
Thereafter, he became a missionary and led the first Baptist missionaries into Africa. He was instrumental in establishing the colony of Liberia and formed a Baptist church in Monrovia, the colony’s capital. His ministry made great impact and he is celebrated today as one of the foremost Black Christian leaders of his time.
According to Scriptures, redemption has positioned us to become the light of the world, the head and not the tail, above only and never beneath.
As we yield ourselves in complete and whole-hearted obedience to God, He will lift us from the floor and lead us inch by inch into the grand plan He has for us.
Surely God is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him . Through His blessings, our situation can suddenly change from ordinary to extraordinary and from grass to grace.
Anyone born of God, is destined for global impact. It doesn’t matter how disadvantaged your background may be, though your beginning may be small, your later end is bound to be great. Truly, there’s no limit to how far you can soar, when you make the definite choice to sincerely serve God.
No matter how disheveled things may look right now, as you commit to covenant alignment, this will be the time for your own testimony of glory for supernatural influence. You will experience sudden turnaround and divine speed that will catapult you from low levels to enviable heights of glory.
